BESLER CONSULTING EXPANDS INTO NEW YORK
(PRINCETON, NJ) October 2004 ---- BESLER Consulting, a leading financial and operational consultancy to healthcare providers, has opened a New York office at 230 Park Avenue, Suite 1000, (646) 435-5618 as part of its national expansion plan.
Phil Besler, President and Chief Executive Officer of the consulting firm, made the announcement this week. Mr. Besler said the opening of the office is consistent with the company's vision to provide high level consulting services by utilizing strategically located regional offices. According to Mr. Besler, Mark A. Bogen and Peter J. Avellino have joined the firm as directors who will serve the new office located in New York City along with Kirk W. Kamien who will serve as a Senior Manager.
"There is a growing need among healthcare executives to seek outside professional services in the areas of revenue cycle management, financial operations and reimbursement," said Mr. Besler. "Of particular importance to healthcare executives in the New York region will be the expertise these three individuals bring to the firm regarding Sarbanes Oxley issues as they relate to healthcare governance."
Mark A. Bogen is a CPA licensed in New York State and brings to BESLER Consulting more than 25 years experience in healthcare financial operations. He founded The Bogen Consulting Group, Inc. in 1997 and previously served as Chief Financial Officer for a $400 million, 1,200-bed hospital network.
Peter J. Avellino was the principal founder of Healthcare Business Solutions Group, Inc., of New York City, a financial healthcare consulting firm that he began in 1998. The firm specialized in financial consulting service products that would optimize revenue, improve efficiencies and reduce bad debts. Previously, Mr. Avellino was associated with Ernst & Young LLP New York where he was a Manager in the East Great Lakes practice.
Kirk W. Kamien was the founder of MRK Healthcare Consulting, Inc., a healthcare company that specializes in financial turnaround projects, financial planning and energy cost savings projects. With almost 25 years of industry experience, Mr. Kamien has served as the Chief Financial Officer of an acute care hospital in the Hudson Valley and played an integral role with an International CPA firm's healthcare consulting practice in NYC.
